Here are a few essential profile elements to enable your audience to find you easily and learn all they need to know about you and your content.
File formats
SoundCloud supports AIFF, WAVE, FLAC, OGG, MP2, MP3, AAC, AMR and WMA files and stream at 128 kbps.
Track title
Ensure you title your track so your fans know exactly what they’re listening to.
Tip: When uploading content as a label, remember to title as ‘Artist Name – Track Title’
Track Image
Include an image in your track upload to help identify your sound as official.
Tip: SoundCloud works best with 200 x 200 square images.
Track Description
Use the description to provide fans with key information around your sound.
Tip: You can embed hyperlinks in here, and this information is prominently displayed when sounds are shared to Facebook, so make it count.
Spotlight Feature
Your sounds list is like an activity stream, so your newest sounds are always on top. However, if you’re a Premium user you can utilize Spotlight. This feature allows you to pin selected sounds and sets (up to 5) to the top of your profile, ensuring featured content is always at the top of your sounds list.
Genre Tags
Tags help fans find sounds easily. Adding in a genre tag provides better visibility for your sounds in search and can help your sounds appear in our Explore section.
Other Tags
Remember to add all relevant tags including sub genres, artist names, and guest artists to help ensure your sound shows up in search.
